As a male dancer, i need to know how to captivate any audience without losing much of my dignity?

Im into hiphop dancing and lately i`ve noticed dat some proffessional dancers wanna impress so much on the dance floor to the extent that they lose the concept that a real dancer has to show case that particular art. At the end of the day they are giving audiences a freak show or some stand up comedy. I don`t know, do you think it`s spice up an act or something, or maybe it`s the in thing. I have crossed the "limit" a few times and guys, help me out, i want other genres of dance to understand and respect hiphop, holla back!
