What makes a Democrat in favor of higher taxes and Govenment running all kinds of social programs?

I can understand gays, blacks, and abortion rights advocates being Democrats. I really don't understand why Hollywood types are Democrats since a greater portion of their money will be taken out of their pay. Such people as Michael Moore and Sean Penn who favor Communists styled dictators like Chavez and Castro really puzzle me. If you adhere to Saul Alinsky & Black Liberation theology like the church Obama went to for 20 years if you are not black then you would have to give up any high ranking position to a black person and all your wealth will be taken from you and given to a black person, and the brown shirts will come moving you into the street and the homeless blacks igned to your master bedroom. What part of that agenda that our President has been involved in all his life do they not understand?
