Beginning to Dislike Piano?

The piano is a tool. You use it to create something. But if you have no desire to create something, your skills are wasted. If you don't love music, why try to create it? Find what excites you and then get the right tools to enable you. At least you have a good skill set to fall back on (accompanists are always in demand). But it appears you are ignoring the music and focusing on parent rebellion. Do what you must to maintain your skills and go out and find your fulfillment elsewhere. Be a dancer or a stargazer or a researcher. Open up ALL your creative channels. As you gain maturity, you'll see them all integrate into who you are. Be careful not to blame dad; Take what he has tried to give you gratefully and move on to explore your other interests. You can do more than one thing. Be a fully integrated human being.
