How to tell if someone likes u?

well i like this guy but he's a year older than me. He lets me text him but non of my friends can. he talks to me all the time. when we had a school thing i told him to come to my clroom and he did! i like him but i don't know if he feels the same. he taps me sometimes. hes a patrol and i ride two busses and he knows which ones, so in the morning he looks 4 me and waves. I really like him, i asked him out but he said no bcuz of his parents. please help!
