Is anyone else baffled by John McCain's suspension of his campaign?

I think he needs to let Palin run the campaign. What is she doing? She needs to be out campaigning now. McCain looks like he will take a hit in the polls for this. Also, he needs to get this bill ped before Friday's debate, because if Obama is there by himself, it will look horrible on McCain's part. Remember what happened to Jimmy Carter when he was not there to debate Ronald Regan?
