What is deforestation? How is deforestation related to increased incidence of soil erosion? Give any three poi?
As the first answerer said, deforestation is the removal of plants and more specifically, trees, from their environment. When you see men chopping down trees in a forest, what you are looking at is deforestation. Soil erosion is less likely in places alot of plants grow because the intertwined roots help hold the soil, much like a strainer holds noodles. What happens when you make the holes in a strainer bigger? The noodles would fall through. Less roots, or no roots makes the soil weaker, and more likely to erode from water, air, and other elements.
