I know this sounds a bit cliche, but the best thing I can tell you is to read more books. Books use different vocabulary and also allows you to learn words while in context, so it allows you to solidify your memory of the words. Also try to pay attention to the similes and metaphors because that will allow you to describe things better. Comparisons allow people to visualize what you are saying easier, which in turn, makes you seem like a better writer.
