My accelerator is sticking?

I have a 2003 hyundai elantra... and i have noticed that when im stopped and i put my car in park my car starts to idle really high... and it's because the gas pedal is stuck... so then i pop it up with my foot and it's fine.... sometimes my car "sputters" too while driving and i think that may have something to do with it... is there a quick fix for this or do i need to replace it?
